Incredibly Professional..

Mirror pictures are in, right?? :) They are when you're in a hurry between school and work, and your handsome live-in photographer (a.k.a. fiance) isn't at home. So let's take a look at this outfit, shall we?
Yellow cardigan.. again.. yes. My favorite.
Top. is actually a skirt.. ironically last time I wore it, I took pictures in my bathroom mirror. Maybe it's just this article of clothing that calls for this. Who knows? :)
Jeans.. yep.
Moccasins.. LOVE.

How many of you out there have tried these stick on nail polish strips? This is my second try at them, and they came out MUCH better! That is my one tip of advice when using these.. buy one kind that you don't care as much for, and then the ones you really like.. because the first time you ever try to put them on, you won't be diggin' the results. haha.

Happy weekend! <3

School Style

Yes, most days.. this is the best I can come up with right now. I could probably fall asleep right this second. Actually, I know I could.. And I still have studying to do. But anyway. Not important! This was my school outfit for today. I was rather pleased, despite it being such a basic look. I just did the math.. this whole outfit, including shoes and accessories cost me 60 bucks. Literally everything was bought on sale except for the shoes. Those I decided to go ahead and buy full price because everytime I went to Target I would stare longingly at them.. I mean.. c'mon..

They are the perfect way to add some interest to a jeans and tee outfit. I love the delicate floral print on them.. mainly I just love floral of any kind. It's a bit unhealthy.. I think. Both the necklace and ring were impulse buys at Target earlier today.. I decided they would fit right in with this look, and they were both on sale. So that clinched that decision for me..
Cardigan: Sears (On Sale: $4!)/Top: Sears (On Sale: $4!)/Jeans: Old Navy (On Sale about 6 years ago for $6!)/Shoes: Mossimo from Target ($12)/Ring and Necklace: Target ($4, $10! Respectively)/Purse: Thrifted Dooney and Burke. (Marked at $40, on sale for $20!)
My purse is my most favorite buy in a long time. I've been  meaning to showcase it for awhile, when I still wrote over at Megan Loves, actually.. I just kept forgetting. I had been seeing these D&B purses around the blogosphere for awhile and was envying hard-core. I finally decided that the next time I went into my favorite thrift store and they had some available, that I would just buy one. I found this perfect hunter green one, marked for $40.. but everything in the store was half off that day! It was destiny, I'm pretty sure.

So, I was thinking earlier that it would be cool if I started carrying my camera with me to school and doing either weekly or bi-weekly "School Style" updates.. like a street style type thing. I see ssooo many girls at my school that have amazing fashion sense, so if I get up the nerve I'd like to start asking them to let me take their picture and posting them up here. But, one of the reasons why I've been absent for awhile is that my camera is so old, I'm getting ready to buy a new one, I just haven't been able to yet. But it's really annoying to use because it's so slow and doesn't take the greatest of pictures. So I think once I get a new camera I will not only be updating this more, but also doing some School Style segments. What do you think?? :)

Jeans Times Two.

Yep. Goin' casual again. I wore this outfit yesterday for my first day back at school. :) I've always been the nerd that got excited about the first day of school. And my high school had block scheduling. So there were four classes one day, and a different four classes the next. It was like 2 first days every year! Yes, you may laugh now.

There's just nothing like the feeling of picking out your first day outfit.. and getting to see friends you hadn't over the last three months. Of course, in college I don't have friends that I have a ton of classes with. but I still like picking out my outfit. I decided to go casual, though.. keep it easy.

Tank Top:not sure?/T-Shirt:Canyon River Blues from Sear's (approx $4!)/Jeans:Empyre from Zumiez/Shoes:Mossimo from Target ($15!)/Necklace, Sunglasses and Owl Ring (can't really see that):Forever 21/Bracelets:Gift from my best friend/Clip-On Earrings:Claire's

I really feel like I need to work on detail shots, and my poses. I would like a better camera, but I know my pictures could already be much better if I just learned to 1.)slow down and not try to rush through it. and 2.)pay attention to the details, and figure out something better to do with my hands. hmmm.

Times when Douglas takes my pictures (like these.. thank you darling!) I feel the need to hurry, because he's doing me a favor and I don't want to waste a bunch of his time.. and when I use the tripod if I'm outside, I get nervous and embarrassed and want to hurry before anyone see me. Any tips?? :)

The Great Shopping Expedition of 2012.

Let me tell you a little story about this shirt I'm wearing (and 11 other items of clothing you will eventually see). I had to work a double last Saturday, and I had enough time to do something other than just eat, but didn't want to go sit at home. So I went to Grapevine Mills Mall, it's a local outlet mall. Nothing fancy, but I like it anyway.
So I wasn't really planning on shopping, just there to eat and waste some time.. well, right when I walked in I noticed Sear's had a sign up that said "All apparel $8 or less". I thought that was a pretty good deal, but wasn't really expecting much from the apparel section at Sear's. Maybe that's snobby-sounding, but I haven't been there in a long time.

I found a few cute things, and then noticed at the endcaps there was a sign that said "Stuff this bag with 12 items or less for $50" with a tote bag hanging underneath it. And I seriously said "whoa" out loud. Coolest sale ever. So, yes. I got 11 tops and a skirt for just FIFTY DOLLARS. I'm still in shock. I added up the original retail value... $290. Yes. This is real life. I know, I couldn't believe it either..
So, moral of the story.. shop in unexpected places. You never know what you might find. :)

Country Feel...

Yeah, I chose a super casual look for my first real post. I'm gonna blame this whole outfit on all the country I've been listening to lately, but I don't know what to blame that on. So who knows.
I did decide to wait until the windiest day of winter to take these pictures, though.. So that's always fun. haha. Also, I'm a little bit out of practice. I need to enlist Douglas' help on pictures, I think. I chose to go to a public park and then fret every time someone walked past me. I know, I'm a weirdo.

So, I decided to use the new blog as an excuse to re-wear old outfits. That's what this is all about, really.. I don't want to spend money on new clothes, so I just start a new blog. hah! Not really, actually. I should have some new tops arriving in the mail tomorrow! But for real, if you are a friend of mine that has been reading my old blog for awhile, I apologize now for the inevitable repeats. Luckily, this is not one of them. :)
It's just a really simple look for grocery shopping. I've been wearing too much black lately, for some reason. I was hoping this crazy old Roper jacket would add some interest. Do you think it worked? Ahh. who knows.

Jacket: Cowboy Turtles by Roper (thrifted)/Top: Forever 21/Jeans: Empyre from Zumiez/Belt: Forever 21/Shoes: Charles Albert from Ross ($8!)/Necklace: Forever 21/Earrings: Claire's

Confession: I do  not have pierced ears. I know there aren't many girls out there who don't.. but for those of you who, like me, are upset at the fact that you can't use a nice pair of earrings to spruce up an outfit.. Fear no more! Claire's sells clip ons! And they're cute! And affordable! They're always buy 2 get 1 free. I got 6 pairs for 40 bucks! So, there ya go. A nice tip to leave you with.
